Claverton features a lot of huge barbel, as well as a lot of doubles for this popular species. The Chub and Pike are abundant and of fair size. In recent years, the Newbridge to Kelston section has produced huge Bream and Roach.

Emborough Pond  

Emborough Pond (also known as Lechmere Water) is a 10-acre (40,000 m2) lake between the villages of Emborough and Ston Easton. It was originally a much smaller mill pond. It was held by monks on a 51 year lease from 1525 who stocked it with bream, tench, perch and roach, as they were not allowed to eat meat but were allowed to eat fish. In 1533 locals came and took the fish then throwing down the dam. It is now used for Carp angling.

Chard Reservoir  

Chard Reservoir is 48 acres of open water. It is popular venue for Match Anglers, Carp Anglers, Ornithologist and Walkers alike. Cheddar Reservoir  

Cheddar reservoir was constructed in the 1930s to make better use of the water from the springs in Cheddar Gorge, which had first been used as a source in 1922. The club has extensive fishing on the River Tone right from the upper reaches where it comes from Clatworthy Reservoir and is a small clear bubbling stream containing small wild brownies right down to the slower often muddied waters of the town river as it approaches French Weir in Taunton.
