Puddledock Farm Fishery

St Marys Lane, Upminster, RM14 3NX, London, United Kingdom

Puddledock Farm Fishery is a coarse fishing venue, set in 28 acres of mature pastureland. Puddledock Farm Fishery has been established since 1998 and it is located between the towns of Upminster, Brentwood and South Ockendon. Puddledock is a particularly flat site making access for the elderly and disabled easy. All swims have a slabbed platform for comfortable fishing. In recent years a 60 seater cafe and modern ladies, gents and disabled toilet facilities have been added. The owners at Puddledock always strive to keep a clean and tidy well kept site with friendly staff who do their best to advise when asked. The Four Lakes at Puddledock Farm Fishery have been created to offer a good mix of species offered in varied habitat. Each lake has been designed to cater for all types of fishing including the match, specimen and the pleasure angler.Snake lakeis designed as a purpose built, 100 peg, competition lake. It is approximately 14 metres wide and 1.5 metres deep. The pegs are 13 metres apart on average with established reed and rushes on near and far banks. The lake holds regular open matches every Sunday and Wednesday and the winning weight regularly tops the 100lb mark. The lake is stocked with Carp (20lb), Bream (4lb), Tench (4lb), Chub (3lb), Roach (2lb), Crucian and Brown Goldfish (2lb) and Rudd (12oz). Although designed as a competition lake, pleasure anglers enjoy the snake as there is usually a secluded, peaceful spot and with the carp a good average size there is usually something to put a bend in the rod.Road Lakeis a 30 peg true mixed lake. The Road Lake is probably the most popular lake at Puddledock with its varied species and close proximity to both car parks. The Road Lake has one long island up the centre, 20 metres from the bank, depth is roughly 1.6metres, lending itself to waggler and feeder fishing, popular with pleasure anglers. All methods have proven track records with waggler and tip often winning club matches but long and short pole approach also very successful.Wood Lakeis set in a backdrop of an established wood, and this is the specimen lake at Puddledock. Stocking is pretty much carp only with a good head of fish in the 12lb to 18lb range, with fish in the low 20s rising to 30lb. There are also lots of smaller home-bred carp in the Wood Lake that can be good fun for the junior while dad seeks the specimen.Island Lakeis a 24 peg lake created to satisfy the carp bagging enthusiast, and this is carp only but different to many carp puddles in as much that it is not a whole in the ground but set at the quiet end of the site with established hedgerow and stream / woodland on two sides. Carp from small to 18lbs up for grabs.

An excellent place for all levels of fishing. The lakes are beautifully landscaped . Everywhere is kept clean. The lakes are well stocked and the fish are healthy. Since my husband and I started fishing again after a 30 year break we have enjoye d many relaxing days at Puddledock. The onsite cafe and tackle/bait shop are an added bonus
