Burwell Brick Pit Fishery is a 38 acre former clay quarry which was closed in 1971.
The fishery contains a variety of coarse fish that includes good sized Carp, Rudd, Perch and Pike. Since taking on the fishery this year, Steve Calder and his partners have developed the previously overgrown steep-sided quarry to create 40 spacious yet secluded swims, circumscribed by reed beds, channels, islands and deep margins. The gates are locked between 7pm and 7am.Tickets for the remainder of the 2013-2014 season are priced at £100 - a discounted rate that reflects the further work that remains to be completed over the coming months.12- and 24-hour tickets are also available priced at £10 and £20 respectively.Commonsense rules apply: the use of up to three rods is permitted as are all properly prepared particle baits (except peanuts).Bait boats are allowed when used safely and courteously, and may be available to hire at a cost of £15 per day. Both barbed and barbless hooks are acceptable.
