Great Lodge Farm Ponds

Holt Pound, GU10 4, Surrey, United Kingdom

Set in the picturesque woodland of Alice Holt Forest, Lodge offers superb fishing in very pleasant surroundings. This can be an easy Carp water which provides a good starting point for newcomers to the sport, and achievable targets for those with limited fishing time. The thousands of small fish of various species present also make the three acre pond a firm favourite with pleasure anglers.Members attention is drawn to the Joe Marshall Memorial Shield which is awarded for the best specimen fish of any species caught from the pond each year.Lodge is a prolific water containing most species of coarse fish. Roach and Bream predominate; Tench and Pike can be expected also. This water contains a large head of Carp to 30lb.One of our most popular venues, Lodge Pond offers excellent estate lake fishing for Carp, Bream and silver fish.Bottom tactics for Carp are the norm with the Chod Rig being very popular and offering excellent presentation in the deep silt, with groundbait sticks or pellet bags coming a close second.Bream come easily to either the feeder or the waggler and can give hectic sport on the pole.Winter fishing for the Pike can be good with plenty of Jacks and occasional doubles with the odd larger fish coming to suspended dead baits.
