Furnace Lakes Fishery

Slinfold, Horsham, RH13 0QZ, West Sussex, United Kingdom

Furnace Lakes Fishery is the premier big Carp and Catfish fishery, situated in the beautiful Sussex countryside of southern England. There are 6 lakes on the complex which contain carp to over 40lb and catfish up to 140lb.

The complex has three fishing lodges, all equipped with hot and cold water, plus fridge, microwave ovens and kettles, which are free of charge. There is also a bait and tackle shop onsite where you can also hire out bait boats.

There is a large car parking area to the south of the lakes. We offer a complimentary transport service for fishermen and their gear to all swims (24 hours or more) This transport service is covered by our three new 4WD vehicles and trailers which starts at approximately 7.00 am daily. We employ three full time bailiffs to give assistance at all times, day or night. The fishery has a high-tech security system with alarms which includes CCTV with both vision and audiable recording to ensure the well being of visitors and their vehicles. The entrance gates are locked at night time. The fishery has its own network of hard roads throughout. All Specimen lakes have large woodchip swims to accommodate Bivvies. Double pegs are available.

I feel duty bound to put a review on this lake complex and rules to warn other anglers dissapointment and the way your treated on arrival I have fished this place several times on kiln lake and plantation and have done the registration when it was introduced and have on all occassions read the website and rules and followed them to the letter even phoning them before my visit to clarify certain rules this particular visit (last tuesday ) i had prepared new line bait etc to fish plantation as have fished there and caught catfish up to 75lb on all occasions i was checked for the right tackle and no problem however this time (even having spoke to them a few days previously) i was not allowed on plantation as they are now saying its heavier line bigger mats etc Even when i had to hire a bigger sling and mat £40 extra, still i was put on another lake where i was still not put on a decent swim and my angling skills and fish care was questioned I have been an angler for 45+years and fish care is at the top of my list and dont expect to be treated like a novice and talked to so rudely if plantation is so special and is a mates club then stop advertising it on the website Even though you are not allowed to book i spent the entire 4 days on my own on the lake as they said its booked confused yes !!they seem to make it up as they go along In conclusion the complex has everything going for it (safe, quiet, beautiful lakes and scenery) and if you can put up with the management treating you like a complete idiot then have a good trip i for one will not be going back
