Raskelf Lake

W Moor Road, Raskelf, YO61 3, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Raskelf Lake is one of Bradford No1 AA's flagship waters and is
extremely popular with many of the clubs members. This densely stocked
fishery produces some excellent catches with nets of over 100lbs
achievable during the summer months. The lake, which is situated near
Boroughbridge between Helperby and Raskelf villages, is around 4.5 acres
in size and has 50 permanent pegs for anglers to fish from. Every peg
has features to fish to, from overhanging trees to weed beds, and has a
depth of between 2 to 6 feet in most pegs although some are deeper,
reaching up to 10 feet in areas.

The main species present are F1 carp, tench, ide, bream, crucian carp
and roach, as well as smaller numbers of chub and barbel. Although many
of the fish are in the 1 - 2 lbs bracket, some of the tench in the lake
go up to 7lbs and bream up to 5lbs along with specimen carp to over
20lbs.

WARNING! Due to power lines at the railway end of the lake only rods up to a length of 4 metres are allowed at this end.

Hi Who does the lake belong to or how did it become the property of Bradford fishing. Just interested in the history - no other reason for asking! We are quite local to the lake but we don’t fish.
