The Willows

The Willows was originally dug out in 1973 so that the gravel could be used for building the A12. A year later it was stocked with trout which was the main species until it was turned into a carp fishery under new ownership in the 80's.  

Carp have been caught in this lake to over 50lb in recent years, there is also a 40lb plus carp at the present. The fishery also contains a large head of 20lb+ fish and a number of 30lb plus. Other species consist of tench to over 12lb, eels to 6lb, bream to over 13lb and chub to 6lb.  

Several stockings have also been added to the fishery by Chelmsford angling association. Night fishing is allowed providing that you have a valid permit. the start of the fishing season starts on the 1st of May.

Hi Is willows a club water ? If so is there a list to join. I used to fish the lake year ago when it used to be part off green acres I would love to fish it again me and my wife any info wood be much appreciated Thanks martin
