Turners Pool

Swythamley, Macclesfield, SK11 0SL, Cheshire, United Kingdom

Turners Pool is a great water for beginners and experts a like, the water is teaming with carp average size between 3lb and 7lb. Great little water to build up anyone's confidence I have never visited the venue and blanked, well worth a visit. The overflow peg always produces well, or on a hot day the far peg in the bottom corner has always been a busy day hauling. The cost to fish is just £8 per day. Please note no night fishing is allowed at this venue. From Byron Lane travel to the end you will come to a junction on a bend, turn left at the Fourways Motel, turn right and go past the Ship Inn pub and also a trout farm, go over the first bridge. You will go past a Victorian house on the left just before a sharp right hand bend go over the second bridge then take the next left turn, then next right. You should now pick up the sign for Turners Pool

Carp to over 10lb

25th October went fishing with my girlfriends dad who had a 15lb 11 mirror out, couldn’t believe my eyes as I’d always thought turners was just a runs water as in previous weeks the biggest we’d had was 7lb at best, our 3rd trip to turners in as many weeks and a good turnout for an October fishing day

Fri 16th Oct 2020. Just back from a full day at Turners. This was my first visit to the fishery. Heard it is good in terms of catch rate but didn’t expect a lot of fish due to time of year and the recent cold spell arrived around 09:00. Travelled from Stockport so about 1 Hr. Best to use the on line directions as opposed to putting post code in yourself. A little difficult to find but no problem when I return (which I will). What a “beautiful drive”. Reasonably busy when I arrived but still plenty of space. Not sure weekends, especially in summer would be the same. The owner was walking around as I arrived. What a pleasant gentleman. Nice conversation and good advice. Started out with method feeder with micros and 8mm banded hard Halibut Pellet on hook. 10 Mind and a nice Common of around 4lb.the next hour was dead. Moved to Corn and Micros on method feeders. A few knock with around a 20% hit rate. Started feeding pole lines at 11mtrs..... straight in front and to the margin next to reeds. Bottom depth was just under 1Mtr. Busy time for bites albeit very shy. 50% hit rate. Mix of sizes ranges from Ounces to 7Lb. Also a few Roach(one close to 1lb) and a couple of skimmers. Quitened down midday until 15:00 then picked up. Tried method feeder intermittently but pole more productive, both in front, on the bottom, at 11m and to to margin next to reeds. 15:00 to 17:30 was the busiest of the day. Corn still better than pellet. Better fish coming out. A few “toddlers” but in the most, fish ranging 3lb to 10lb . Was I disappointed. Not for a minute. 55 Fish. I wS trying for 60 but my poor eyes were struggling with the fading light. Apart from 6 or 7 fish all fish were over 1lb. I would say the average over all the fish caught would be 3lb. October fishing, “55” Fish, Average 3lb with two or three definite doubles in the mix - what a great day for £10.00 in a great setting, with pleasant owners, a clean portaloo and good fishing. Thankyou TurnersPool.

Turners pool is great but very expensive. 1 rod between myself and 2 young sons costs us £18, but i could have 2 rods for 8quid if i left my sons at home.
