Old Hall Pond

Sewerbridge Lane, Pontefract, WF7 6, Wakefield, United Kingdom

Ackton Pond is a pond with no frills, and with 24 pegs it can feel quite small when busy.
The pond has good depth in places and as such offers sport at most times of the year. There are plenty of silver fish stocked to an average size of 4 to 6 oz, which will respond to maggot and caster as long as the loose feed keeps going in.
Don't be surprised if you pick up a bonus fish in the shape of a tench (up to 10lb) or one of the carp that run to almost 20lb. If this is your target then corn, meat or a big worm in the margins first and last thing is the way to go.
Matches are every Wednesday and Sunday to members only and no day tickets are available until after match, the times are 10am-3pm Wednesday and 9.15am-2.15pm Sunday.
In the height of summer, Wednesday is then an evening match, and the day match is then Friday 10am-3pm.
