Meon Springs Fly Fishery

East Meon, Petersfield, GU32 1HW, Hants, United Kingdom

Meon Springs is series of four very clear water Trout lakes situated in the South Downs in East Hampshire between Petersfield and Winchester. The lakes are formed by springs coming from the chalk and they provide excellent Trout fly fishing all year round. The alkaline spring fed water provides a very healthy environment for the Trout and dry fly fishing and nymph fishing are both very good according to the season. Meon Springs is an excellent fly fishing environment for both complete beginners to the art of fly fishing and also competent experienced fly fishers. Meon Springs Trout lakes are situated in Hampshire to the south west of London just 40 miles from the M25 (junction 10 / M3) and around 25 miles south west of Guildford. Facilities at the lakes are superb and include flushing toilets, picnic tables, a large lodge (with dining room), barbeque, fridge, tackle shop, cafe, a camping field and ample car parking. Non-fishers are welcome to visit to watch their friends fish and it is a very peaceful scenic setting to while away a few hours well away from the bustle of normal day to day life. The South Downs Way long distance footpath passes between the lakes and the South Downs setting of the lakes is stunning.
