New & Old Dowells River

Rhee Wall, Appledore, TN26 2, Kent, United Kingdom

This stretch of water is a narrow drainage system which has depths of between 3’ and 6’ and is around 20’ wide. During the summer months, heavy weed is present which creates a narrow fishable channel. It is set in fantastic surroundings on the edge of Romney Marsh and is perfect for the mobile angler who likes to stalk their fish.

Specimens available in this stretch of water include bream that average 6lb, tench averaging 6lb, roach that average 1lb, carp that average 10lb with pike up to 20lb. This water is rarely fished and can offer some great sport. Offer plenty of loose feed here, with the best hook baits being worm, bread flake or sweetcorn. Lures work well when targeting the pike.
