Pads Lake used to be known as Stanford Fishery and operated as a day ticket venue. Now, this lake will be closed until the new owners complete a programme of needed maintenance. This seven-acre fishery has been stocked with prime carp and tench. Results since opening in spring 2006 suggest that this water is going to be one of the top mixed fisheries in Essex.
The water has undergone a substantial makeover during the winter of 2009, with sustainable stock levels introduced and a redesign of the whole water body from the stock to a weed management plan. This should ensure that the water will be long lived and should come to be known for the fantastic sport it can produce.
