Lovely place to spend a few hours fishing for good quality, hard fighting rainbow and brown trout. Well maintained banks and plenty of swims, each with its own bench to rest on when the fishing gets a bit too hectic. Friendly bailiff who is always willing to offer advice.

I am new to the area and interested in photography and fishing and went along to Cletham to have a look and took my camera with me. I should not have bothered and will not be going back. I politely asked the man in the shed if I could walk around and take a few pictures to show my wife and was rudely told no. No wonder the place was empty. I'm surprised with that attitude it's lasted 40 years
