I fished on parts of the canal a few years ago now, but what i can say was how surporised i was at not just the quality of the fish, but also the variety, i had some lovely bream to aroiund 5lb and tench up to around the same, roach up to 2lb and perch up to 4lb, i fished mainly on float and feeder, using maggot and sweetcorn as hook bait, i found that raking a swim an hour or so before fishing produced good results, do not be put off by how shallow it is in places because the fish come thick and fast, a very underrated venue in my opinion.
