Acorn Carp Fishery

Acorn Carp Fishery is officially opened in June 2001. The carp lake is approximately 3.5 acres. There are some 550 Carp currently in our lake. Around 300 doubles, 200 mid doubles, 30 high doubles, and the remainder 20s up to 30lb at the moment. The lake is usually netted each year and all the small carp are collected and stocked into the smaller stock pond.

The River Tone

The club has extensive fishing on the River Tone right from the upper reaches where it comes from Clatworthy Reservoir and is a small clear bubbling stream containing small wild brownies right down to the slower often muddied waters of the town river as it approaches French Weir in Taunton. The lower stretches may not look as appealing as the upper reaches but they do contain some good brownies and a good head of grayling.

Plantation Lakes

Plantation Lakes opened in 1994. The complex has three lakes open at the moment and all are all heavily stocked with a wide variety of coarse fish. The coarse and carp lakes were dug in the summer of 1994 and opened for fishing the following November. The coarse lake is an established, mature lake that is approximately 2.5 acres in size. Emborough Pond

Emborough Pond (also known as Lechmere Water) is a 10-acre (40,000 m2) lake between the villages of Emborough and Ston Easton. It was originally a much smaller mill pond. It was held by monks on a 51 year lease from 1525 who stocked it with bream, tench, perch and roach, as they were not allowed to eat meat but were allowed to eat fish. In 1533 locals came and took the fish then throwing down the dam. It is now used for Carp angling.
