The Environment Agency report for our 1/3mile stretch of the Stour reported: The lower stretch of the River Stour should support around eight
species; Chub, Roach, Gudgeon, Pike, Perch, Minnow, Stone loach and
Bullhead. More species than expected were recorded including Bleak and
Rudd. Both species prefer slow flows with vegetation and areas of slack
water, therefore reflecting the habitat types of this survey site. The
Chub and Roach caught on the survey included a large number of
juveniles, indicating that recruitment is good in this stretch. Please seeour face book page for past and present news. Overall the survey results suggest good species richness.
