Popular with carp anglers, it is known to hold commons and mirrors to 36lbs as well as ghost carp to 23lbs, grass carp to 6lbs and catfish running between 10lbs and 45lbs with a lot of fish in the 25lbs to the 30lbs range. Abbots Salford Lake is approximately 5 acres with a maximum depth of 6ft. It has a low stocking density so long periods between bites are to be expected, but the rewards for the effort are worth it.It holds the usual silvers but is mainly fished for the specimens that reside here with carp to 20lb+, bream 7lb+ and tench 7lb+. This small reservoir has 66 pegs. The pool is located behind the Blue Lias public house on Stockton Road, where there are toilets and of course refreshments. The reservoir is no longer operational and so water levels remain constant. This is a heavily stocked mixed fishery with most of the carp with a good number of doubles. There are also huge numbers of tench, crucian carp, chub, rudd and roach. The lake is shallow with depths averaging 5 feet with a maximum depth of 7 feet.

Earlswood Lakes
There are three reservoirs at Earlswood between 20 acres and 27 acres. Windmill and Engine Pool are canal feeder reservoirs and Terry's Pool is no longer used as a water supply reservoir. Windmill Pool and Engine Pool usually have falling water levels from April until October which means that the pegs along the dam may not be useable in the summer and early autumn.
