Thorpe Underwood Fishery

Harrogate, YO26 8EX, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom

This fishery shares the same features of Thorpe Underwood as it is only 2000 yards down stream towards Linton Lock and its marina. To find it from the A1M take the A59 road towards York and then turn left after 4.5 miles up Pool Lane which is sign posted Nun Monkton. Follow the lane for just under 2 miles towards Nun Monkton and then take a left turn on Rooke Lane. After 3/4 of a mile the road meets a 'T' junction. You can go either way here - left to the top of the length and right to the bottom. Turning left follow the road past Widdington Hall Farm and park on the verge around the corner. The river is 550 yards down the footpath on the opposite side of the road. Turning right at the 'T' junction, take the next left sign posted 'marina' and follow the road down to the buildings. Parking here costs £1. Access is over the first field upstream (350 yards) and over the stile to the first peg. It's main species are roach, bream, perch, chub, dace, gudgeon, ruffe, bleak and pike.
