River Bollin

Bowdon, WA14 3, Trafford, United Kingdom

This small river is based on a sandstone catchment, which means the river is continually changing shape, eroding and depositing sand.
There are mixed fish stocks here, some trout and some coarse species (chub, dace, perch, etc). The Bollin is a tributory of the River Mersey. It is not a prolific fishery, but an interesting challenge to members who like something a little more intimate and different.
Recently salmon and sea trout are making a comeback into the River Bollin.
