St. Germans Lake

Street, Shaugh Prior, PL7 5, Devon, United Kingdom

Plymouth and district angling club cover 4 lakes at Cadover Bridge and two at St. Germans - ranging in size from 0.5 to 2 acres.
Four lakes at Cadover: Main Lake approximately 3.5 acres - approximately 20 pegs. Fish stock includes carp, bream, tench, as well as a good head of roach, rudd and perch.
Weedy Lake is approximately 1 acre - 3 to 4 pegs. Throughout the year there is prolific weed growth in this lake, hence the name. There are clear spots though, and if you find them the fish won't be far away!
Fish stock is purely carp and tench in this lake, but they are generally bigger than the other lakes. Car Park Lake is approximately 1 acre - 3 to 4 pegs. Fish stock is mainly carp in this one.
'Boating Lake' is approximately 2.5 acres - so called as until the purchase of the Cadover complex by the club, the previous landlord used to allow the Plymouth model boat club to use this lake. As such, there are not many places to fish the lake at present. Fish stock is very low, and is mainly stocked by fish escaping from the carp park lake when it's been flooded.
The St Germans lakes are in the fabulous surroundings of the Port Elliot Estate. There are 2 lakes at St Germans. The upper lake, which was previously unfishable has 4 swims along the damn wall.
The lower lake is approximately 2 acres in size, and has around 20 marked pegs from which you can fish. Fishing is only possible from 3 banks, as one bank has reeds in front of it which act as a sanctuary for the fish. Fish stock includes carp, bream as well as a good head of tench and silver fish.
