Talkin Tarn Country Park covers over 180 acres, 65 of which make up the tarn itself. The tarn is up to 42 feet deep and fed by underwater springs. Local rumours say there is a small, submerged town lurking on the lake bed. This is a great location for sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. You can also hire rowing boats or simply go for a leisurely walk in the park’s woodland. It’s over a mile to walk around the tarn, along a good path that’s suitable for wheelchairs.
