Birkacre big Lodge

Burgh Hall Road, Chorley, PR7 3, Lancs, United Kingdom

It covers around 8 acres. The depths range from 6ft to around 14ft. This water holds very few carp but makes up for it for its large head of Tench and Bream. The Tench run to 8 or 9lbs with4lbs being the norm. The Bream go from skimmers to fish of 7lbs as any water holding Bream they can be moody but when they get their heads down 100lbs+ bags are not uncommon. There is also a big head of Roach and anyone who likes hemp fishing will find that there is good sport to be had once August comes around. Nets are allowed on this water but anglers should be sensible with how many fish they hold in their nets, also how long they keep them. This water is situated in Yarrow Valley Country Park.
