Moran's Moat is situated beside Fan Lodge. It is a purpose-built fishery, roughly 120 metres long and 70 metres wide at the top. The water is around 11 metres wide and has 30 pegs. It was built with a shelf on either side and is 1.5 metres deep.
This water was first stocked with 1500 small tench, 2500 4" to 6" skimmers, several thousand mixed roach, carp, gudgeon and hybrids, then with several thousand more small carp from 3" to 8" and 100 common carp around 12" to 15". In 2008 it was re-stocked with 400 6" Chub. Re-stocked with 2000 6 to 8inch carp July 2009
It is possible to book this water for Matches by contacting the Match Secretary, at a minimum of ten pegs costing £3.00 per peg.
