Makins Fishery

Bazzard Road, Bramcote, CV11 6LA, Warks, United Kingdom

We can accommodate either pleasure and match anglers with over 600 swims to select from. We know for a fact that if one water is booked for a planned event, we can place a leisure fisherman on a water where they will have an equally great day. Every Wednesday and Thursday, matches are conducted, and we are now accepting match reservations for the next year.

Although catching fish is a vital part of any fishing adventure, we understand that today's fisherman wants more than just a few hours of activity on his or her arms. They demand calm surroundings, well-built and spaced pegs, and helpful employees who can assist them with any questions. We happily provide all of these extras and strive to provide the whole package to all of our guests.

1ST LAKE

This is the biggest lake on the complex, measuring little under 5 acres. With a total of 53 pegs, the lake is highly stocked with carp ranging between 10 and 30 pounds, as well as a large number of fish reaching 20 pounds or more. There are also a large population of bream that range between 3lb to 5lbs which are great for feed fishing.

The average depth is roughly 8 feet, although the deeper water to the left of the parking lot is around 11 feet.

2A LAKE

This premium match lake, which is split into two lakes with 45 pegs spread out over three and a half acres, reliably produces large match weights while also appealing to both pleasure anglers and specimen hunters, is split into two lakes with 45 pegs spread out over three and a half acres.

This lake is capable of producing match weights of over 200 pounds.

2B LAKE

This premium match lake, split into two lakes with 45 pegs spread out over three and a half acres, consistently produces large match weights while also appealing to both pleasure anglers and specimen seekers. Lake B is a little deeper, at 8 feet deep.

For aiming, each peg includes an island marker.

This lake is capable of producing match weights of over 200 pounds.

LAKE NO. 3

This lake and its 20 pegs have an average depth of roughly 6 feet, making it one of our simplest lakes to catch lots of excellent sized Carp and Silvers all year.

The Carp have gone on incredibly nicely and currently run to 3-5lb and a few 8lb+, despite being overlooked by our touring field and formerly used as a stocking pool.

Because the pegs are just on each side of this square-shaped, tiny but well created 1.5-acre lake, the corner pegs seem to perform the best.

LAKE NO. 4

This lake is also square in form, with a tiny island at one end. It is one of our deepest lakes, with 30 pegs and a dividing rope running across the centre.

It measures around 11ft along the rope and 9ft down the track. It is much shallower closer to the island pegs, reaching as low as 3ft on the top twenty numbered pegs.

LAKE NO. 5

In our view, it's one of the country's greatest all-around lakes and one of our most popular. With 54 evenly distributed pegs, this 2.5-acre lake is easily accessible from the main parking lot. With an average depth between 5 and 6 feet, this lake can accommodate anglers of any skill level.
