Ackton Pond is a popular one-lake pond in Yorkshire, not far from the town of Pontefract. It provides many opportunities for capturing good-sized fish.
Tench up to ten pounds and carp up to twenty pounds are planted in the pond. The majority of the catches are little silver fish under 1lb.
Although not the most rewarding lake to fish, this is an entertaining lake to fish. Ackton Pond is a popular destination for family outings and learning to fish.
The lake is surrounded by 24 pegs in a bigger park complex, and it may become busy.
Note that Wednesday and Sunday are reserved for matches, so day ticket anglers should choose another day. In the summer, nighttime matches are held on the same days.
Ackton Pond has produced carp in excess of two pounds and tench typically weigh in at approximately ten pounds. Silver fish weighing 4 to 6 oz are the most frequent capture.
