The highest Carp Fishery in Wales, nestled among the Clwydian Mountain range.
We have a good stock of wild home grown Mirrors, Commons, and Ghosties to reward and frustrate all anglers. Stocked in 1986, and after 35 years of slowly growing at nature's pace, we have a nice supply of wild home produced Mirrors, Commons, and Ghosties to reward and frustrate all fishermen. Over 1000 carp roam the lake's peripheral features, which are snuggled between 22 drained pegs.
Common and Ghost Carp make up the bulk of the carp in the lake, although there are also Koi and Mirror Carp. The lake has tench up to 8 pounds, perch up to 5 pounds, and huge brown trout up to 14 pounds.
On a substrate of hard shingle and silt, lake depths average 7 feet. On a peat & blood worm silt substrate, the northwestern end is shallow to 8 feet. The lake's various characteristics include a vast network of gullies and sand banks, as well as natural springs. Two hidden peat islands, visible in June before submerged in Autumn.
