Specimens Lake

Big Pit

This lake was formerly two lakes that were combined to make a single huge and complicated lake. The Old Canal and the Old Pit Lake were the first lakes. The lake contains a diverse selection of species and several attractions that make fishing enjoyable.

It's nicknamed the Big Pit for a reason: the water depth at one end (inlet side) reaches 18 feet, while at the other end (outlet side) it's only approximately 8 feet. The lake's bottom is mostly silty, with peat and clay towards the lake's base.

This big and, in some spots, quite deep lake offers not only to the recreational fisherman, but also to the match and serious angler. With carp up to 28 pounds, huge tench, perch, and dinner-sized plates of Bream, the lake works well for anything from pole fishing for smaller fish to ledger and feeder approaches to employing boilies and the same principles as the Specimen Lake.

Pleasure Lake

The lakes in White Springs provide something for everyone. The majority of swims are accessible through gravel walks with gravel purpose-built swims with parking right next to the swim.

The Enjoyment Lake is, as its name implies, a lake designed for pleasure fishing for people of all ages. From junior to senior, this lake offers a diverse selection of fish in a variety of sizes. It also includes a Lakeside Cabin that can be rented, complete with power, a refrigerator, and a microwave. This lake allows for overnight fishing.

This beautiful multi-pegged lake can accommodate up to 30 anglers with plenty of space on the pegs. Fish may be caught from the top or bottom of the lake, producing nice catches on float, ledger, or pole. It is highly popular with all sorts of fishermen, including match anglers and pleasure anglers equally. There are several characteristics inside the lake and its environs, as well as some pegs that are pole fisherman' dream.
