Conningbrook Lake

Julie Rose Stadium, Ashford, Willesborough Rd, Kennington, Ashford, United Kingdom

Conningbrook was discovered in the early 1980s, and the initial strain of fish originated from Faversham's waters (wood pool and mill pool).

Despite the fact that this is an extremely harsh water with just around 30 confirmed Carp, the sheer size of these fish is incredible. Anglers that regularly fish this water know that the next run might be a personal best. The British Record Mirror of 67lb 14oz, called as Two Tone, was caught on the lake and tragically perished a few years ago. The Brook still has some monster fish; all of the originals are well over 20 pounds, with the most over 30 pounds, and one common estimated to be in the mid 40s, if not near to 50 pounds.

The lake is very hard the top fisherman will usually catch between seven and twelve fish a season at this place. It's not a good place to start fishing if you're just beginning. However, if you have a few years of experience and know a lot about watercraft, you can get some of the units that live there.

Ashford Borough Council shares this venue with them. Water sports and boating do take place in and around Lake Ashford because of this. There is no wait list for the single ticket, which costs £250. They can also fish at this place.

During the spawning season, we don't have a closed season on this venue. Please be prepared to swim or go to the lake when the fish are spawning.
