This lake is rather huge, with plenty of fish and a focal point in the form of an island. There's also a short spit of land that juts out, allowing anglers to fish near to the island for native carp that appear to prefer a small bay area just in front of the island. A gravel bar runs across the length of the lake along the side, and the railroad tracks nearby attract numerous silver fish, particularly Bream, making it an excellent feature for match anglers. A fantastic "runs" water for carp anglers with plenty of room to play the fish. There is something for everyone at this lake.
We have witnessed a great development to this venue in a short period of time under new management by Nash Sponsored Angler Jason Massay, and Hendre is now one of the best running waters in South Wales. Jason ensures that this lake is constantly stocked with lots of specimen fish by maintaining an ongoing re-stocking program. They also have a unique feeding program in place to guarantee that these fish are in excellent condition and reach maximum weights when captured, as well as providing anglers with a large number of fish to target, with carp weighing up to 30 pounds.
