Denford Fishery is a famous chalk stream that rises above the Wiltshire college town of Marlborough and flows east through many picturesque villages and sites of early Saxon settlements. You will fish beats within a private estate near Hungerford in Berkshire. Here you can experience the joy of dry fly fishing on the Kennet for brown and rainbow trout. Denford water comprises a number of clear and shallow tributaries running through fields untouched by pesticide. Ideal if you want to stalk your fish. This water also includes many fast running pools formed years ago and part of the main Avington water is fished.The river Kennet mentioned in chronicles by such great fishermen as Sawyer and Skues, still offers the modern angler a chance to fish in the grand style. Traditional upstream dry fly fishing on the Kennet is the order of the day here from the 1st April until the season ends on 30th September. The use of small nymphs is allowed from 1st July until the end of season.Guiding can be arranged on this water along with suitable fishing tackle. Group fishing days are most welcome, take over the fishery for a day's fly fishing on the Kennet!
