Can’t understand why Pennine staff get so much stick.I fished the pennine for years; never had any probs with management or staff.Always helpful and polite. That also applies When big Archie was a bailiff there.

Bought a 8 hour sporting ticket for £30 , quite expensive really. Hooked a 3lb rainbow. Got the fish in the net, immediately the guy with the dog came over, obviously being a nosey c#$@. Could see I was struggling to get the hook out, it was stuck right in the back in the middle of the fishes throat. Instead of leaving me to deal with the issue, he engaged in conversation about how the fish wont survive as I had a wet towel to hold it, under the belly of the fish. He said I should have just cut the line. Now in my eyes that would have been cruel and the fish wouldnt have lasted a day, anyway by the time I had got the hook out, and placed the fish in the water it wasnt looking healthy, so I took it back out and said I'll pay for the fish, he got a bit of an attitude and I wont say what I felt like doing, I bit my tongue, packed my stuff cos my day is now ruined, this was 3 and half hours in. So plenty of time left. But I decided I'm going. I went to pay for the fish I killed and he tried charging me more for a full days fishing with fish killed. No no no pal. You'll get the extra what I would have paid if I'd have bought a days fishing with killed fish. He even had the cheek to say he would be out of pocket for the death of a fish. Now hold on a minute pal I gave you £30 plus £11.50 for the dead fish. Definitely not out of pocket. When you fish here dont take the fish out of the water, just lean over the edge with the fish in the net and still in the water and remove your hook this way. If he only explained that in the 1st place. Place is well over stocked, the guy with the dog is not very nice. Its well overpriced, I wont be going back there. If your face doesn't fit, you'll be watched like a hawk as if you're a thief.
