Syke Fishery is a coarse fishing venue located next to the Syke Methodist Church on the Syke Road in Rochdale. This one acre lake reaches approximately 18 feet deep and has 18 permanent pegs. The lake contains coarse fish such as Carp, Roach, Bream, Perch, Rudd and many more. Please take extra care when visiting this venue as the banks are steep and the pathways can become very muddy in adverse weather conditions. The Society also has a small pond at this venue which is shallow, much easier to fish and can provide great sport in winter when most other venues fail to produce. New concrete pegs and other work to the small water and paths was undertaken by member, Daz Wright using grant money secured by Barry Watkins. Access is gained through a locked gate and across the farmers field between Syke Methodist Church and Hazel Grove farmhouse.
