Having fished most swims over 50 years and do still now. I have found that the river has changed for the worst, although there are pockets of Roach bream Rudd perch and some pike it is not as abundent with fish as even 30 years ago. The river has declined with pollution and water controll the river not now so tidal and is very weedy in summer due to the run off of farm chemicals, Many years ago i caught Roach to 2lb easily and huge shoals of chub and dace were frequent like piranna ,sadly anyone who knew the river would not be inspired to fish it now
