When can i buy a permit are they on sale now
Permits are available online at the Wentworth Fisheries Website or Available at the Fitzwilliam-Wentworth Estate Office.

No Spinners or Lures are Allowed on Any of the 3 Estate Lakes. A full Range of The Rules for the lakes can be found on the fishery website.
My dad Ian Edwards has fished for years with wentworth fisheries . However now he can’t drive anymore so would he be allowed to get dropped off in a taxi and picked back up at the water side as he can’t walk very far either
Where do the empty shells at the side of the lake come from They are about 4 x 3 inches in size and a dark grey colour They look like some kind of clam
These live in the lake, I fish Mill dam frequently, and therefore come across what you are describing. I believe these to be Zebra Muscles and they are well known for cutting clean through anglers lines if a fish goes through a muscle bed. I hope this helps.
How much is the yearly permit
Mill Dam Juvenile Permit(upto 16)- £30, Single Rod £70, Double Rod £140 - please be advised There is option to fish a third Rod, with the exception of Spod and marker rods
